Chiropractic First for Headaches and Back Pain

A recent Journal of the American Medical Association study found headaches and back pain cost more than $60 billion per year. They are also the number one reason for lost work productivity and absenteeism. Fortunately, chiropractors are highly trained and highly successful in treating both headaches and back pain… it’s what we do! There are also dozens of studies supporting this, including: (1) The July 15, 2003 issue of the medical journal Spine found that manual manipulation - the primary form of treatment performed by doctors of chiropractic - provides better short-term relief of chronic back pain than medication, and (2) In 2001, researchers at Duke University found cervical - or neck -- manipulation appropriate for both tension type headache and cervicogenic headache and noted that "cervical spinal manipulation has a very low risk of serious complications" which may be "one of its appeals over drug treatment."
